I assumed I didn't need to state this so explicitly, but that's my mistake. Since you apparently need everything spelled out for you: no, the trust I place in you isn't the same as the trust I place in the Jotaro I know because you don't have the same experiences he does that shaped him into who he is.
But that's not the same thing as not trusting you at all. Something like this isn't all-or-nothing where I trust you completely or not at all. It simply means I'm more conservative as to how much I'm willing to rely on you, but I'm open to giving you more than that when I'm given reason to place more trust with you.
I think that's reasonable given the circumstances.
