[ FIRST FLOOR | SECOND FLOOR | BASEMENT | REQUEST ] Outré is an art gallery curated by Kishibe Rohan. The purpose of the gallery is primarily to exhibit his own work, but he is willing to share space with other artists of Ruby City as the second floor offers two exhibit areas. The exchange rate is as follows: ✒ One Gallery Space. Free. Artists need only coordinate with Rohan and/or other artists.Art that can be displayed is of any medium. Artists are free to likewise store their art in the basement between exhibits, particularly if they would like to have their art regularly rotated out. If artists would like to have a special event related to their exhibits, they will need to notify Rohan regarding the event as well as any additional decorations included. Food/drink are permitted, but not beyond the line of the reception area. CURRENT EXHIBITS. ✒ First Floor. FIRST FLOOR [floor plan] Upon entering the building, visitors will find themselves in a reception area lit entirely by natural lighting from the gigantic windows during the day. To the right is a L-shaped, wooden, and well-polished desk. If Rohan ever bothers to enlist someone's help, this is where that person would spend most of their time. But for now, the desk is not manned. Found on the desk may be a small stack of pamphlets of sorts explaining the exhibit(s) as well as some background on the artists. One may also make themselves coffee or tea, and grab a small snack from the desk, but food/drink is not permitted beyond the reception area. Behind the desk is a staircase leading to the basement. The door leading into the basement is locked, and only Rohan has the key. To the left is a seating area with a comfortable leather couch and coffee table. Stacked on the coffee table are a few books related to art history. Beyond the reception area is the first floor gallery. The walls are lined with Rohan's art with small signs near each describing name, medium used, and what the piece is depicting or some other factoid related to the piece. Available are some comfortable, cushioned benches for those that would like to sit or really deeply contemplate the pieces along the two walls in the center of the room if leaning on any one of the four columns isn't in the cards. In the center of the room is a spiral, wrought-iron staircase that leads to the second floor. The walls are white on this first floor, and the wooden floors are finished. SECOND FLOOR [floor plan] Reaching the top of the stairs leaves visitors in the middle of the first gallery that is available to other artists to utilize. This first gallery area is lit primarily by indoor lighting, whereas the second gallery lighting has the benefit of natural lighting from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Both galleries have benches, and stand-alone walls, though the second gallery has a slightly larger one. Not depicted on the floor plan is a gender neutral bathroom (single, not stall) in the lower right corner of the second gallery that takes up negligible floor space. When not being used by other artists, Rohan will expand his own artwork to overtake one or both upstairs galleries. Alternatively, he may display a collection of art from numerous artists that have pieces in storage or rotate out whole exhibits. He is capricious. Although like the first floor the floors are wooden and finished, the walls are painted different colors. The first gallery has dark green walls, while the second has been painted a brighter turquoise. BASEMENT [floor plan] The basement is locked to visitors since the area is primarily for storage purposes, and Rohan is the only person with a key at this time. Artists may only have access to store or retrieve their art pieces provided they coordinate with Rohan in the first place. In the back corner is an office space that's used for any mild paperwork (e.g. agreements related to trades/exchanges, documentation of what's stored down there, etc.) that's kept in a locked credenza. The key to this credenza is hidden in the office rather than on Rohan's person. Rohan also manages the calendar for the gallery down there. There are also extra pamphlets to replenish the stock on the reception desk if necessary as well as supplies for the tea and coffee. REQUEST GALLERY SPACE It isn't necessarily to thread the interaction between your character and Rohan to negotiate/notify unless you want to! But just for the sake of ease when it comes to ooc organization, here is a handy little form for you to fill out to request space: |
